Dear Mr. Farris:
The North Carolina Division of Coastal Management (DCM) reviewed the above referenced
application for a Nationwide Permit, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Public Notice, dated
October 12, 2005. On October 17, 2005, Mr. Ted Sampson, former DCM District Manager,
corresponded with a letter stating. fill on Lot 55 in 404 wetlands was located within an Area of
Environmental Concern (AEC). On October 26, 2005, Mr. Kendall Turnage, with
Environmental Professionals, Inc., submitted to the U. S. Army:Corps: of Engineers a revised
drawing of 404 wetland fill on Lot 55 to be.located entirely outside the 75-ft. AEC...
Therefore, your above referenced revised development of fill on lots ~3 Sterling Colson Way and
Lot 55 Otter Way, River's Edge Subdivision, Perquimans County, is located outside the Area of
Environmental Concern, and will not require a CAMA Permit from the Division of Coastal
Management... This project is found to be consistent with the North Carolina Coastal
Management Program.
