Dear Mr. Lockwood:
On November 19, 2007, the NC Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received a Public Notice for this project.
DWQ wrote an on hold letter dated November 27, 2007 requesting the necessary application fee. Please note
that the following must be received prior to issuance of a 401 Water Quality Certification:
Application fee: please note that the N.C. General Assembly approved an increase for application fees for
all regulatory programs administered by DWQ, effective July 1, 2007. The fee for applications is now $240 for
projects impacting less than an acre of wetland and less than 150 linear feet of streams (whether intermittent or
perennial). For projects impacting one or more acres of wetland or 150 linear feet of streams (whether
intermittent or perennial), the fee is $570.
Until the information requested in this letter is provided, I will request (by copy of this letter) that the Corps
of Engineers place this project on hold. Also, this project will be placed on hold for our processing due to
incomplete information (15A NCAC 2H .0507(h)).
