Dear DEMLR Regional Office: The TruExterior Plant 2 located at 175 Circle M Drive in Salisbury, NC has exceeded two benchmark parameters (TSS and COD)for a single time under NCG050428. TSS for Outfall 001 sampled on March 27, 2024,was measured to be 1500 mg/L compared to the benchmark of 100 mg/L. COD for Outfall 001 sampled on March 27, 2024,was measured to be 189 mg/L compared to the benchmark of 120 mg/L. The facility is required to follow the Tier One response as documented in Table 18.4.1-1 of the NCG05 Permit. • The email serves as the Notify Regional Office within two weeks with the exceedance date and values. • The facility has reviewed the Outfall location (near the road ditch/culvert)and believes that stormwater coming from another source upstream maybe the issue. In the next stormwater sampling event, the facility plans to conduct samples before Outfall 001 as well as our normal Outfall 001 sample. This will show how much pollution is running into the area prior to the facility outfall. • All findings will be documented in the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan.
