Subject: Novo Nordisk Update- SAW -2015-02127
I wanted to give everyone an update on some upcoming activities for the Novo Nordisk project that aren't directly related
to the Section 404/401 permit but wanted you to be aware in case you received any calls or questions.
As part of the Town of Clayton's requirement for the Major Site Plan and Special Use permit approval, Novo Nordisk, in
conjunction with the Town, NCDOT, and their consulting team (Kimley-Horn and Fluor Engineering), will be hosting a
Neighborhood Meeting for the adjacent property owners on Feb .91h - 6pm at the Johnston County Workforce
Development Center. While the intent of the meeting is to review the site plan and project elements, we will also be
prepared to answer any questions regarding environmental impacts.
Also, Falcon Engineering will be starting their geotechnical evaluations of the property (north of the railroad) later this
week. Their boring locations are outside of the wetland areas and their equipment will not encroach into any of the
wetland areas. During their evaluations, there may be multiple drill rigs on-site. These geotechnical activities could
possibly be mistaken as "construction" by residents but wanted you to be aware of the nature of the activities and that
they are not construction related.
The USACE Public Notice comment period extends through Feb.8t"; however, if you have received any comments to date
that we can assist in addressing or that would be helpful to be aware of in advance of the neighborhood meeting, please
let me know.
