This letter is in reply to your letter of April 22, 2024, noting the January 2024. Discharge Monitoring
Report (DMR) for the Town of Columbia Waste Water Treatment Plant.
It had been months since a high reported value Enterococci had been noted. Although the cause of this
extremely high January 6, 2024 sample is unknown, it is apparently an abnormality. On the days
immediately before and following the January 61 sample the numbers were back in the normal range.
We are making every effort to use proper containers and handle them with care in order to eliminate
such deviations in values. Any other suggestions from your staff will be appreciated. We want to be in
compliance.
