Brightleaf Blvd.) over the Neuse River. The approach work will consist of providing paved shoulders/ curb & gutter, (Description of Minimization of Water guardrail, and future multi use path. Bridge #70 existing sic span structure (375' total length) will be replaced with a 3 span (1 @ 105', 1@130', 1 @ 105') - 63" Florida I Beam at the Quality Impacts) existing crossing. Existing bridge deck drains from vehicle travel lanes drain across the entire width of the Neuse River. Proposed deck drains will only drain the multi -use path and will not contain flow from the vehicle travel lanes. Drainage from the proposed bridge travel lanes will be separated from the multi -use path by a dividing wall. There will be no proposed deck drains discharging on to the banks of the river. The bridge will utilize staged construction to maintain existing traffic during construction. Best Management Practices: -All storm drains outlet onto rip rap pads. -Bank stabilization and rip rap at outlet in NE quadrant to prevent erosion. -Elimination of three interior bents, one in water. -Bridge opening will be increased between existing and proposed bridge layouts resulting in nominal reduction in backwater and bridge opening velocities. -Deck drains will be eliminated along the travel lane and be retained for the multi -use path only.
