Hi Kim -- Thank you for letting us know that the BR-0086, Johnston County project is moving
again. I've checked our 2018 review and, as long as the design and study area limits are unchanged,
it remains valid and no additional historic architectural investigation is required. We reviewed the
project to federal standards, so both GS 121-12(a) and Section 106 are satisfied.
I cannot comment on archaeological resources, so you should contact Matt and his folks directly.
I will add a copy of this e-mail exchange to Connect NCDOT, where the 2018 review form already

Hope you had a great weekend. The Division has ramped up the subject project again, so I'm checking in with you to see
if there's any more that needs to be done for the HA/A aspects of this project for the draft PCE I created in 2021. 1 found

out at a project meeting held last week that the design hadn't changed within the study area limits (which haven't
changed either).

Kim, this project was submitted to us in 2011 for review under the Minor Projects Programmatic Agreement and
assigned PA# 11-08-0088. At the time it was state funded with a federal permit required from the USACE. It was
resubmitted with the same parameters in 2018 and reviewed again. According to our database, both groups completed
the necessary Section 106 compliance work for the project.
