We offer the following responses to your review comments, received by our office on
April 4Th:
Comment No. 1:The most recent version of the 1:24,000 USGS Topographic Map -
Please cleanly draw or delineate the site boundaries on the
topographic map.
ResponseNo. 1: Pleme referencc capies of Lucama USGS Topographic Map for
project cmssing lacatiws.
Cornrnent No. 2:The most recent version of tl'ie bound and published County NRCS
Soil Survey Map - Please clearly delineate the site boundaries, etc.
on the map. If the delineation obscures any of the features, it is
recornrnended that a clean copy be provided. Copies of the current
soil survey and/or soil survey map sheets can be obtained from the
local NRCS Corinty Office (http://www.nc.nrcs.usda.gov/). GIS
soil layers are not acceptable.
Response No. 2: Please referetxce copies of Wilson Coun$ NRCS Soils Mapping
for project crossing locations.

ComrnentNo. 5:The impact amounts need to be clearly identified at the
corresponding impact locations on the site plan(s)/map(s).
Response No. 5:Please reference tables on correspondmg Revised Platx Sheets,
now reflectitig temporary impact amounts in square footages for
each crossing location.
Cornrnent No. 6:Update site plan(s)/map(s) to show buffer impacts and Zones 1 and
2.
Response No. 6:Please reference Revised plate sheets, now reflecting
corresponding shaded (hatched) areas for the buffer impacts,
and Zones I & 2.
Comment No. 7:Provide a map detailing the pump around design proposed for the
site.
RBsporxse No. 7:Please reference attached Revised Sheet 32A for Temporary In-
Stream Pump Around Detail, to be utilized for some crossings, (FS
deemed necessary. Length of stream work area shall not exceed
that which is required by area disturbed by pipe installation
trench.
Comment No. 8:Detailed restoration plan for the impacted areas including how the
impacted stream will be restored to match the existing stream
width and bank slopes.

Response No. 8:Please reference attached Revised Sheet 32A for Stream Crossing
Construction and Repair Notes. Notes are included which
require timber reinforcement, if txecessary to reinforce steeper
stream banks where matting alone is itisufficietit for
stabilization. Length of stream work area s/ta// not exceed that
which is required by area disturbed by pipe imtallation trench.
Comment No. 9:Provide which Uses from the Table of Uses in the Neuse Buffer
Rule (Title 15A NCAC 02B .0714) yori are proposing to fit your
buffer impacts rmder.
Response No. 9:This project proposes to install (notx-electric utiliffl) new water
main across existing buffers, roughly perpendicular to each
stream, at 10 fi. wide, and with minimal impacts to the buffered
areas {IS "allowable", according to the Neuse Buffer Rule (Title
I 5A NCAC 02B .0714)
