Nucor Steel Lexington Pump and Haul Renewal Application
Attached is the pump and haul renewal application for Nucor Steel Lexington. The facility is
currently working on building a new micro rebar mill in Lexington. This pump and haul renewal
request is being submitted due to the facility continuing to work on connecting to the city sewer
and receiving the necessary permits for this connection. The city of Thomasville WWTP is in the
process of making some updates to their system so that they are able to receive wastewater from
the facility. Until the site is tied into the city sewer and the WWTP is able to receive the
wastewater, the facility will need to continue to pump and haul the domestic wastewater from the
Administration Building. The City of Thomasville is estimating the facility will be able to
discharge to the city sewer by October of 2024. The facility is hoping to use of the
Administration Building in the next few months.
I certify that the information in this report is true, complete, and accurate based upon reasonable
inquiry. If you have any questions, please feel free to call myself or Matt Way, our
Environmental Manager, at (903)241-6116.
