SAW-2020-02243 Request for Additional Information
Good Afternoon Samantha,
Thankyou foryour comments regardingthe Trent River Basin permit application.
Please see Axiom's response to comments below in BLUE.
• DWR understands that temporary Buffer Impacts will be restored, but DWR is concerned about the removal of
trees in the buffered areas. Please provide a response stating that removal of trees in the buffered area will be
avoided and minimized as best as possible.
■ Site 1-2
• Site access occurs within an existing cleared powerline easement as stated on sheet
C3.2 of the Repair Plans. No trees are anticipated to be removed for access to the
repair site. The Site will be revegetated immediately after construction.
■ Site 1-15
• On sheet C3.15 of the Repair Plans, NOTES state that the "CONTRACTOR SHALL AVOID
TREE REMOVAL AS BEST FEASIBLE. MATURE TREES REMOVED WITHIN ZONE 1
RIPARIAN BUFFER SHALL BE REPLANTED AT COMPLETION OF REPAIR." Within the
General Construction and Geotechnical Notes section on page 2 of the Repair Plans is a
section titled PERMANENT SEEDING SCHEDULE FOR AREAS OTHER THAN CHANNELS,
describing the general sequence and herb species to be used for revegetating areas
impacted by construction, however, this does not include tree species. Any general
guidance on the size, species, and planting density requirements for the replacement
of trees in the buffer would be appreciated. We will update the impact drawing for
this site appropriately.
