4. UNDERDRAIN PIPE SHALL HAVE $' PERFORATIONS SPACED AT 6" CENTERS, MIN. 4 HOLES
PER ROW. MAX SPACING OF UNDERDRAIN PIPE IS 10 FEET ON CENTER.
5. UNDERDRAIN PIPES SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 3 INCHES OF WASHED #57 STONE ABOVE
AND ON EACH SIDE OF THE PIPE.
6. ALL GRASSED BIORETENTION AREAS SHALL BE SODDED, NOT SEEDED. THE SOD MUST
NOT BE GROWN IN SOIL WITH AN IMPERMEABLE (CLAY) LAYER.

PLANTING SOIL SHALL CONSIST OF 85.88% SAND CONTENT (ASTM -C-144 RECOMMENDED) AND 3.5% ORGANIC MATERIAL (COMPOST, SANDY LOAM), 8-12%
FINES CONTENT, 10 TO 30 (12 TO 36 PPM ON A DRY BASIS) PHOSPHORUS INDEX (TOTAL PHOSPHORUS); 5.5 TO 7.0 PH LEVEL. A PERMEABILITY (K) FROM 1 TO 2
IN MR. PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF THE PREPARED SOIL, A LABORATORY TEST MUST BE PERFORMED TO VERIFY THE TOTAL PHOSPHORUS AND PERCENT
CONTENT. CONTRACTOR TO COMPLETE SOIL VERIFICATION TESTS AND SUBMIT TO COUNTY INSPECTOR FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF THE SOIL.
SOIL SHOULD NOT BE INSTALLED UNTIL ALL THE CONTRIBUTING DRAINAGE AREA HAS BEEN STABILIZED AND APPROVED BY THE INSPECTOR. PROVISION
FOR SEDIMENT CONTROL MUST BE INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED AS SPECIFIED IN THE SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL PLANS. SOIL SHOULD NOT BE
DELIVERED TO THE SITE UNTIL EXCAVATION HAS TAKEN PLACE AND THE FABRIC AND UNDERDRAIN SYSTEM HAS BEEN INSTALLED. SCARIFICATION OF
IN-SITU SOIL SURFACES BY MANUALLY RAKING TO AERATE AND REDUCE SOIL COMPACTION IS RECOMMENDED.
INSTALLATION OF SOILS MUST BE DONE INA MANNER THAT WILL ENSURE ADEQUATE FILTRATION. AFTER THE INVERT AREA OF THE PROPOSED FACILITY
HAS BEEN SCARIFIED, SOIL SHOULD APPLIED IN LIFTS OF 12 INCHES. LIFTS MAY BE APPLIED USING A SMALL TRACK MACHINE SLOW GROUND PRESSURE
SUCH AS A MINI HOE. LIFTS MAY BE LIGHTLY WATERED TO ENCOURAGE NATURAL COMPACTION. SOIL MEDIA MUST MAINTAIN AN INFILTRATION RATE OF 1 TO
2 INIHR AFTER PLACEMENT.
AVOID OVER COMPACTION BY ALLOWING TIME FOR NATURAL COMPACTION AND SETTLEMENT, NO ADDITIONAL MANUAL COMPACTION OF SOIL IS
NECESSARY. ADDITIONAL SAND MAY BE NEEDED AFTER SETTLEMENT TO ACHIEVE FINAL GRADES, RAKE SOIL AS NEEDED TO LEVEL OUT.
CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE DELIVERY OF MATERIALS TO AVOID STOCKPILING AND CONTAMINATION PROBLEMS. SOIL MATERIALS SHALL NOT BE
DELIVERED UNTIL BIORETENTION FACILITY HAS BEEN EXCAVATED OR GRADED TO THE DESIGN ELEVATIONS AND FILTER FABRIC AND UNDERDRAIN SYSTEMS
ARE IN PLACE.
CONTRACTOR TO INSTALL SILT FENCE AROUND ENTIRE PERIMETER OF THE BASIN UNTIL GROUND COVER IS FULLY ESTABLISHED. AN ALTERNATE WOULD BE
TO USE SOD OR STABILIZE THE SOIL AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE BASIN.
PLANTING MATERIALS SHALL NOT BE DELIVERED UNTIL AFTER THE SOIL MEDIUM HAS HAD TIME TO SETTLE AND TRIMMED TO THE PROPER GRADE
ELEVATION.
