Sampling Timeframe: July 2015
Charlotte Pipe and Foundry (Charlotte Pipe) is sending this letter to
NCDENR in regard to monthly Tier II sampling requirements for SW004 and
semi-annual Yr6-P2 sampling for SW005.
For the month of July 2015, URS, our contractor, was unable to collect
stormwater samples from outfall SW004 due to drought conditions in the
area.
With the new outfall location for SW005, flow is only present in heavy rain
conditions; thus, no sample could be collected during the facility -wide semi-
annual sampling event that was conducted in June 2015. Plans were to make
another attempt at outfall SW005 during the monthly July sampling for
SW004. Due to the drought conditions, this was not possible.
As required in Tier II of the Stormwater Plan, Charlotte Pipe will continue to
monitor for all required parameters until such time as the site can
demonstate three consecutive samples that are below the benchmark values.
