SUBJECT: Compliance Inspection Report
1204 Patterson Road SFR
Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0015489
Wake County
Dear Permittee:
The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the 5317 Old Weaver Trail
Road SFR on 04/24/2024. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance
with the conditions and limitations specified in Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0015489. The findings and
comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled
"Compliance Inspection Report".
Division records indicate a treatment system consisting of a two 1,000-gallon baffled septic tanks with filter;
two 264 sq.ft sand filters, a chlorine contact chamber, two 1,500-gallon pump and storage tanks with a 12.6
gallon/ minute (GPM) pump, a 0.31-acre spray irrigation area; and all associated piping, valves, controls and
appurtenances.
During the inspection, the following was observed:
Schedule (Section I of permit):
1. The permit expired on January 2, 2024. A permit renewal application has been received and is
currently being processed.
Performance (Section II):
2. The facility meets the performance standards and setbacks as stipulated in Section II of the permit.
Operation and Maintenance (O&M) (Section III):
3. During the inspection, fencing was observed around the irrigation area. The fencing is commonly
known to need consistent maintenance. It was noted at the time of the inspection, the fencing was too close
to the sprayers and should be moved out beyond the spray area so that ponding and runoff do not occur.
Adjust the sprayers to spin 360 degrees once the fence is moved out of the spray zone. Please continue
maintaining the fencing around the spray area.
4. The spray heads appeared to be in good condition. Please continue to check the heads on a regular
basis to make sure they are rotating.

was observed with a stuck tablet at the top. Please clean out the chlorine tablet chambers and remove the
stuck tablet.

tank was pumped out around 2022. Pease continue to pump the tank every 5 years to keep the system
running effectively.
7. The storage tank was full and should be cleaned out to remove any blockages.
8. Please note that the system should be checked monthly and the vegetation in the spray field should be
maintained to keep vegetative growth from obstructing the sprayers.
Monitoring, Reporting (Section IV) and Inspections (Section V):

mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or ponding and runoff occur in spray area, please notify the Raleigh
Regional Office within 24 hours.
