REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION-EXPRESS REVIEW PROGRAM
Dear Mr. Burris:
On November 27, 2007, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your response to our request for
additional information. The DWQ has determined that this information is incomplete. Please provide the
additional information requested below in order to continue review of your project and to prevent denial of your
application as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506:
Diffuse Flow Provisions:
a. For the 1-inch storm, please provide calculations for the design volume above permanent pool level,
surface area at the permanent pool level, orifice/weir sizing including drawdown rate and head above
the permanent pool level, and velocities at the end of the outlet pipes and just after leaving the rip-rap
apron prior to entering the filter strip for ALL BMPs. If it is determined that the exiting velocities are
erosive, level spreaders or appropriate BMPs will be required in order to achieve diffuse flow across
the filter strip.
2. Wet Detention Pond G
a. Please revise flow and velocity calculations through Channels 50 and 51 with the appropriate section
slopes. Our office estimated the channel slopes to be 1.8.4% and 13.3% respectively for sections 50 and

As requested, we are granting you a 7-day extension (total) on the 30-day Express Review Clock since the
original 30-day period ended on November 28, 2007. Please respond as promptly as possible, not later than
five (5) days from the date of this letter by sending two (2) copies of this information. The Express Review
Program is a process that requires all parties to participate in a timely manner.
This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters or
