The plant had 3 daily violations for BOD this month. The violations were a result of staff attempting to add de-chlor to the larger sample bottle at collection to aid the lab in not having to add de-chlor upon
receipt and cause a false high BOD result of the sample. After receiving the notifications, the practice was modified for plant staff to only add a drop in the large jug to see a downward trend of the sodium hypo
residual. During the violations, the staff was trying to acheive a .1 mg/L residual. The Wilmington Regional office was notified of the violations. All other parameter were compliant for the month.
