DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT Location of Project F The Town of Princeville is located geographically within the coastal plains region of North Carolina within Edgecombe County. The Town is located approximately 0.5 miles southeast of Tarboro and 7 miles northwest of the Town of Conetoe. The Town's sewer system is now owned and maintained under Edgecombe County, in what is known as Water & Sewer District 2 (WSD 2). The wastewater collection system consists of approximately 518 sewer connections, 68,000 LF of gravity main, 8 pump stations, and 277 manholes. Pump station construction and sewer main installation will take place within existing utility easements and previously disturbed areas within WSD 2. Topography within the project area is generally flat, sloping between 0-7.7 %. Manmade drainage features such as swales and roadside ditches collect and remove runoff. The low elevation change will make sedimentation and erosion control from construction more containable. CFigure 1: Vicinity Map I L B. TYPE OF DEVELOPMENT Gravity Sewer LThe proposed sanitary sewer project will consist of constructing new 5,150 LF 8-inch PVC Gravity Sewer, and 25 new manholes. There is no anticipated increase to flow at the time of Lconstruction. L 0 L L FIA F Pump Station & Force Mains The proposed project will include the construction of a new pump station (53 Acres Pump Station) that will convey the wastewater collected from the development in gravity sewers. The Lakeside Mobile Home pump station will be taken offline and removed. There will be construction of new 10,800 LF 6-inch C-900 PVC force main from pump station 53 Acres along US-64 ALT toward Mullins St to interconnect to the existing Edgecombe County sewer system. FTreatment Wastewater collected from Edgecombe WSD 2 is conveyed from pump station 53 Acres through a force main to the existing gravity collection network in Edgecombe WSD6. The wastewater in WSD 6 is pumped to the Town of Tarboro WWTP through an 8-inch force main under the Tar River. The current project will not include any improvements or direct impacts to the Town of Tarboro treatment facility. C. TIME SEOI~ENCE OF OPERATIONS Construction is anticipated to begin in Summer 2024. Permits are being secured now and once the C project is awarded, construction will be able to start. The contractor shall complete all construction within the easements and rights -of -ways as shown on the plans. All utilities must be checked and tested and any areas that can be seeded should be done as soon as possible. t L L I I L
