NOTICE OF VIOLATION

This response is in reference to the violation issued to our Transylvania Collection system on April 12,2024 regarding a sanitary sewer overflow.
At approximately 14:30pm we were notified that a man hole was overflowing . We immediately called a contractor with a camera and jetter, , to jet the
line and clear the blockage . Once the blockage was removed a camera was used to view the line and determine the cause of the blockage , which
ended up being a broken 8 inch PVC line that was damaged by power company boring crew and debris built up causing blockage .Line was dug up
and replaced broken section of pipe .
Water quality samples were taken upstream ,downstream,and at the location of the spill. Approximately 720 gallons were spilled and a lesser amount
entered lake Ticoca . Lime was applied to the ground where waste water made contact .
We continuously try to improve our collection system through improvements ,inspections and cleanings throughout each year .
We also keep an open dialogue with the community we serve ,which assists us in identifying these types of spills that could go unnoticed if not
reported in a timely manner.
