The site is in Guilford County, NC approximately 2 miles northeast of Climax, NC east of Fields Farm Road. The conservation easement was recorded, survey boundaries were marked with t posts, soil was prepared, trees and seeds planted March of 2024. Installation of monitoring plots was completed in the last 30 days. The following more detailed summary of activities is provided and a figure including location of installed monitoring plots riparian restoration, riparian enhancement and riparian preservation is attached. Conservation Easement: The map of record for Dutch Farms is recorded at the Guilford County Register of Deeds, Plat 186, Page 48 and 49. One conservation easement was recorded for Dutch Farms Site at the Guilford County Register of Deeds: 1) for Davey Resource Group, Inc. in Plat book 212 page 17. Parcel Preparation: Preparation within the Parcel involved treatment for invasive species (where present), ripping, and seeding and planting. A combination of silt fencing, erosion control wattle, temporary seeding, and erosion control matting were used to reduce erosion and stabilize soil in riparian areas during any land disturbance activities. Invasive species treatment may be ongoing depending on plant phenology. Planting Summary: The conservation easement area was planted with a mix of bare root hardwood species and live stakes on March 11, 2024. Approximately 16 acres were planted at an average density of at least 680 stems per acre on approximate 8 x 8 spacing. Tree species planted were those proposed in the Mitigation Plan and are listed below in Table 1. In addition to planting bare root and live stake hardwoods the site was seeded with the following mix of native annual and perennial herbaceous cover, Table 2. Species not initially reported in the approved Mitigation Plan have been added in red. Seeding was completed the week of March 11-15, 2024.
