TO DISCHARGE WASTEWATER UNDER THE •
NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM
(NPDES)
In compliance with the provisions of North Carolina General Statute 143-215.1, other lawful standards
and regulations promulgated and adopted by the North Carolina Environmental Management
Commission, and the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended, the
Carolina Water Service Inc. of North Carolina
is hereby authorized to discharge wastewater from a facility located at
Riverpointe Subdivision WWTP
15820 Alloway Lane, Charlotte
Mecklenburg County
to receiving waters designated as the Catawba River [Lake Wylie] in the Catawba River Basin in
accordance with effluent limitations, monitoring requirements, and other conditions set forth in Parts I,
II, III and IV hereof
This permit shall become effective November 1, 2015.
This permit and authorization to discharge shall expire at midnight on June 30, 2020.

SUPPLEMENT TO PERMIT COVER SHEET
All previous NPDES Permits issued to this facility, whether for operation or discharge are hereby
revoked, and as of this issuance, any previously issued permit bearing this number is no longer
effective. Therefore, the exclusive authority to operate and discharge from this facility arises
under the penult conditions, requirements, terms, and provisions included herein.
Carolina Water Service Inc. of North Carolina
is hereby authorized to:
1. continue to operate an existing 0.050 MGD wastewater treatment system utilizing two parallel
package wastewater-treatment plants (one for sludge wasting/storage) consisting of:
• bar screen (shared)
• flow splitter box
• equalization basin
• circular clarifier
• dual (2) peak-flow cloth filters
it. backwash collection mud well with two (2) grinder-transfer pumps
♦ open-channel ultraviolet (UV) disinfection
• back-up chlorine disinfection (tablet)
s backup chlorine contact chamber
• backup liquid dechlorination
• aerobic sludge digester
• weir-based ultrasonic effluent flow meter
♦ stand-by power generator
• sludge dewatering box
• effluent-collection basin (2,000 gals)post-aeration/backup chlorine-contact with pumps
these facilities located at the Riverpointe Subdivision WWTP, 15820 Alloway Lane near Charlotte
in Mecklenburg County, and
2. after notifying the Division of intent to expand flow, and after receiving the Division's
Authorization to Operate, operate a wastewater treatment system consistent with expanded flow
limit of 0.100 MGD, then
3. discharge from said treatment works via Outfall 001, at the location specified on the attached map,
into the Catawba River (Lake Wylie) [stream segment 11-(123.5)] a waterbody currently classified
WS-V; B located within Subbasin 03-08-34 [HUC:03050103] of the Catawba River Basin.
