Existing Structure:
Can the existing bridge deck be removed during the inactive bat season/winter months
(October 16 - March 31)? (If not, please explain)
It can if the available construction time is long enough and that it is called out in the proposal.
Trees':
Can the trees in the project footprint be cut during the inactive bat season/winter months
(October 16 — March 3 )? (If not, please explain) With the current proposed let date of April 2,
2025 it will not be possible to start any clearing until October 15 of that year and this could
potentially delay the project.
*Tree clearing that occurs during the tree -roosting bat active season (April 1 — Oct 15) will require a formal Sec. 7
Consultation (BA). This process takes an additional 9-12 months to acquire a Biological Opinion from the USFWS.
Alternate dates below are provided as possible conservation measures to include in a BA:
-can tree clearing be avoided during the maternity season (May 15 — August 15)? Yes with a change in the let
date
-can tree clearing be avoided during the pupping season (June 1 — July 31)? Yes with a change in the let date.
Blasting:
Will blasting be used for this project?
If so, will blasting occur after tree clearing?
Utilities*:
Will any clearing for utilities be necessary? If so, can the trees in the project footprint be cut
during the winter months (October 16 — March 3 )? (If not, please explain)
