~ Kimley-Horn ~ and Associates, Inc, November 21, 2007 Ms. Cyndi Karoly, Supervisor NCDENR Division of Water Quality 2321 Crabtree Boulevard, Suite 250 Raleigh, NC 27604 Subject: DWQ Project #07-1671, Ver. 2 Wake County Wal-Mart Store 4484-00, Raleigh Tri-Mall Site, Raleigh, NC Ut to Perry Creek [030402, 27-25-2, C, NSW] Dear Ms. Karoly: On behalf of our client, Wal-Mart Stores East, L.P., we are writing in response to your comments regarding the subject project. Your comment and our response is noted below: 1. Please provide an updated location map for the site. Updated maps have been included. 2. Please provide cross section details showing the provisions for aquatic life passage. A cross section has been provided showing that the proposed extensions will match the grade of the existing pipe, and therefore allow aquatic life passage. Please re-submit level spreader plans that show the bypass structure outside of the level spreader, and citing o the level spreader on a slope of 6 percent or less. Additionally, please label the level spreader detail per the current DWQ guidance. Level spreader plans have been revised to show spot elevations on the level spreader. Additionally, revised calculations and level spreader worksheets have been included. A detail sheet has been added to include a detail of the level spreaders and the bypass structures. ^ Suite 300 4651 Charlotte Park Drive Charlotte, North Carolina 28217 Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at 7 -654- 5907. p ~(~([~,~ Sincerely yours, L~ (,[ KIMLEY-HORN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. %7::W~ .
