Pinnix'; Nevills, Matthew; King, Morella s; Tharrington, Tom; Walker, Bob; Wessner, Alice Subject: Brunswick Regional Water & Sewer - East Lake Subdivision LPSS Extension WQ0045233 permit application A review of the application and supporting documents for the subject application has been completed in accordance with 15A NCAC 02T .0107. Please provide the additional or revised information for the following comments, in order for the office to complete the review: The proposed additional sewer flowrate requested in the permit application indicates 68,040 GPD based on 324 residential units (each 3 bedroom) at a flowrate of 210 GPD per RDU, with the additional sewer flowrate to be treated at the Northeast Brunswick WWTF permit WQ0014415. Please provide a copy of the design flow reduction approval letter from the Division for use of 210 GPD per RDU. For future reference, such approval letters are required to accompany each permit application that is submitted to the Division for review if a reduced design flowrate is proposed. There were two FTSE's submitted with the permit application package. Please explain why there are two FTSE's. Also, both FTSE's submitted indicate a higher proposed sewer flowrate (70,560 GPD) than the permit application (68,040 GPD) for the proposed project. Both FTSE's submitted indicate the additional sewer flowrate will be treated at the Northeast Regional WWTP permit NC0086819, which is not the name nor permit number listed for the receiving treatment facility on the permit application. Please address these inconsistencies and submit a revised FTSE's or permit application, as appropriate. PE signed and sealed anti -floatation calculations were not submitted in support of the notation on simplex pump station in the engineering plans. Please provide. 4. PE signed and sealed pump station emergency storage calculations were not submitted as required in support of the emergency storage volume indicated on the permit application that 360 gallons of storage is available during a power outage. Please provide. On all the engineering plan and profile sheets, the minimum vertical separation between water mains and proposed pressure sewers crossings appears to be labeled as just 18". There is also an extensive storm sewer collection system proposed with this project and the minimum vertical separation of 24-inches at crossing points with the proposed pressure sewers is not clear. I suggest adding a prominent note on each of the sheets to clarify that this notation means 18 inches of minimum vertical separation to be provided during construction to meet 15A NCAC 02T rule requirements for crossing points of water mains and 24 inches of storm sewers from the proposed pressure sewers. On sheet C3.03 at approximately Sta 105+40, on sheet C3.05 at approximately Sta 144+50 and on sheet C5.01 at approximately Sta 27+40 of the proposed engineering plans and profiles the minimum vertical separation between the water mains crossing the proposed pressure sewers do not appear to be labeled at all. Please add. 7. On sheets C3.03 and C3.04 the minimum horizontal separation of 10 feet between the water mains and proposed pressure sewers do not appear to be labeled. Please add. 8. There does not appear to be construction specifications included in the permit application support documents package. Please provide. A response to the above comments is considered required in order to proceed with the review of the application and issuance of the permit. If a complete response is not received within 30 days, the application and supporting documents will be returned to you in accordance with 15A NCAC 02T.0107(e)(2). Please feel free to provide digital copies of these revised documents and supporting information to me via email along with hardcopies via mail. Please let me know if you have any questions. Dale H.
