Hi Johnathan,
I'm under the assumption that you still have not proceeded with any repairs. Due to DWR's reasonable period of
time for reviewing a project, DWR will return this application. You did not have to pay to apply, and you will not
have to pay to apply again (if you decide to). Feel free to reapply for the buffer authorization at any point in time.

Hi Mr. Tyson,
I hope you're doing well! I've attached some documents that will be helpful in your erosion repair
project. As we discussed, the stream is within the Tar -Pamlico Buffer, which means any impacts within
50' buffer will require a 401 Water Quality Permit. Your regional office will be the Washington Regional
Office and you'll be in contact with Allen Stewart ([e-mail]) or Paul Nyarko
([e-mail]) regarding the 401 permit.
After looking through online maps, it does appear that your work area will be within the 50' buffer. I've
attached a screenshot of the map I'm looking at for reference. I think it would be beneficial to contact a
consultant to help you with this work to make sure you will be in compliance with any future permitting
if you decide to repair the erosion.
