The Mayo Steam Station will soon begin placing ash in the ash basin landfill (ABLF). The subject permit requires Duke
Energy to notify the Division of the forthcoming processing of leachate in the lined retention basin (Outfall 002A). This
notification fulfills Duke Energy's Permit obligations found in permit condition A(5). of permit NCO038377 to notify the
Division at least 7 days in advance of leachate discharge. Please let me know if you have any questions.
