X Parameter(s) are water quality limited. For some parameters, the available load capacity
of the immediate receiving water will be consumed. This may affect future water quality based
effluent limitations for additional dischargers within this portion of the watershed.
••
No parameters are water quality limited, but this discharge may affect future allocations.

Subject: Effluent Limitations
Pine Mountain Lakes
Burke County
Dear Mr. Rohaly:
Ann B. Orr
Regional Manager
The Asheville Regional Office recently received the effluent
limitations proposed for Pine Mountain Lakes Development's new
wastewater discharge permit. A copy of those limitations is attached.
The proposed effluent restrictions differ from existing limits as
follows:
Parameter Existing Limitation Proposed Limitation
Fecal Coliform 1000 organisms/100 ml 200 organisms/100 ml
The fecal coliform limit change is due to a more restrictive water
quality standard which became effective on October 1, 1989. Review of
Pine Mountain Lake Development's data for the period April, 1991
through March, 1992 suggested that compliance with the new coliform
limitation would not require equipment or operational modifications.
Your attention to this item is appreciated. Please contact me at
telephone 704-251-6208 if there are questions concerning the proposed
wastewater discharge permit.
Sincerely,
James James R. Reid
