Aqua North Carolina, Inc. (Aqua) offers the following response to the above -referenced SSO Notice of
Violation.
Aaua's Response:
The wastewater discharge was caused by a pipe failure. The broken section of eight -inch PVC sewer
pipe and associated fittings were removed and replaced. A temporary sediment basin downgradient
from the discharge captured the wastewater discharge. The wastewater did not reach waters of the
United States. Aqua removed all water (diluted wastewater) from the sediment basin. Emergency
crews also treated the ground surface with lime.
