Directions to Site: From US 17 Business in Vanceboro turn north onto Farm Life Avenue, and go approximately 0.4 miles; treatment plant is on right (east side of Farm Life Avenue) after crossing railroad tracks. 6. Discharge Point(s), List for all discharge points: Latitude:350 18' 13" N Longitude:770 08' 52" W U.S.G.S. Quad Name Vanceboro, NC 7. Site size and expansion area consistent with application ? Yes, total site is approximately 2 acre; approx. 0.5 acres is available for expansion. 8. Topography (relationship to flood plain included): Flat; elevation of site is approx. 26 feet above MSL; site is above the flood plain of Mauls Swamp. VCILUTTED 9. Location of nearest dwelling: Approx. 100 yards from discharge (across Farm Life Avenue, northwest of the discharge); another house is approx. 50 yards north of the plant. 10. Receiving stream or affected surface waters: Discharge is into a 2-foot wide man-made drainage ditch tributary to Mauls Swamp (a tributary to Swift Creek) a. Classification: C Sw NSW b. River Basin and Subbasin No.: 03-04-09 C. Describe receiving stream features and pertinent downstream uses: 2-feet wide ditch is a usually dry ditch used for drainage. Mauls Swamp is used for drainage, supports fish propagation, and provides habitat for other wildlife. PART II - DESCRIPTION OF DISCHARGE AND TREATMENT WORKS 1. a. Volume of Wastewater to be permitted: 0.010 M G D (Ultimate Design Capacity) NOTE: Regeneration/backwash cycle once for every 146,000 gallons of drinking water produced; average daily drinking water production is 119,000 gpd; actual average daily wastewater flow is approx. 8,000 gpd (24 regeneration/backwash cycles per month, approx. 10,000 gallons of wastewater per cycle) b. What is the current permitted capacity of the Waste Water Treatment facility? 0.010 MGD C. Actual treatment capacity of the current facility (current design capacity)? 0.010 MGD d. Date(s) and construction activities allowed by previous Authorizations to Construct issued in the previous two years: N/A e.
