Thanks for the updated information A few corrections are needed on the plans, itemized below.
1) Please clearly show the limits of the proposed temporary impact on the plans. Also, the
temporary impact amount listed on the plansheet is larger than the total proposed culvert/rip rap
impact, please revise the temporary impact amount, ensuring that the proposed temporary

impacts do not double count proposed permanent impacts.
2) Please clearly show the footprint of the existing culvert pipe on the plans.
3) Once plansheet corrections are made, please update the PCN per items 1 and 4 of my
r 10/29/2015 email request for additional information.

email), for the above referenced project. I have reviewed the information and need clarification
before proceeding with verifying the use of Nationwide Permit 39

receipt of this Notification, otherwise we may deny verification of the use of the Nationwide
Permit or consider your application withdrawn and close the file
1) The PCN references temporary impacts for construction access (pump around), however the
plans submitted do not clearly show the limits of the proposed temporary impact. Also, the
temporary impact amount shown in the PCN is larger than the proposed culvert impact; please
ensure that the temporary impact amount proposed does not double count proposed permanent
impacts.
2) Typically rip rap at the downstream end of culverts can be placed such that the top of the rip
rap is no higher than the existing stream bed elevation (rather than rock piled on top of the
stream bed); please include a profile of the rip rap apron confirming this is the case. If a piled rip
rap dissipater pad is needed, please clearly explain why.
3) Please update your plan sheet to clearly show the limits of permanent impacts due to the
culvert footprint, permanent impacts due to rip rap apron/bank stabilization, and (as request
above) temporary impacts due to construction access /dewatering. Do the impacts include the
footprint of the existing driveway crossing? If so, it is not necessary to consider currently
culverted stream as an impact; update the plans and PCN accordingly in this case.
4) Please update PCN section C.3 to itemize permanent impacts due to the culvert footprint,
permanent impacts due to rip rap apron/bank stabilization, and (as request above) temporary
impacts due to construction access / dewatermg.
