The applicant is proposing to dredge underneath the existing permitted 30-foot by 60-foot wet slip to -6 NLW, construct a 2-foot by 24-foot roof over the existing platform, construct a new 202-foot seawall that will have 1,000 (sq.ft.) of jurisdictional wetland fill, and the installation of 1,430 (sq.ft.) of pavers at 517 Turner St., Beaufort, NC in Carteret County. The Division has determined that your application is incomplete and cannot be processed. The current application is on -hold until all the following information is received: 1. Please provide the purpose and need for the 202-foot sea wall with 1,000 (sq.ft.) of jurisdictional wetland fill. 2. Please provide the location of the existing manhole, existing rip -rap alignment, and NC DOT right of way easement on the plan drawings. 3. Please provide clarification and a cross section drawing of where the proposed bulkhead will align with the existing rip -rap and jurisdictional wetlands. 4. Please provide drawings that shows the length of each separate seawall that is being proposed to be installed. 5. Please provide a jurisdictional determination of the proposed wetland fill area. 6. Please provide the type of material proposed for the seawalls, the intended construction methodology, and how the applicant proposes to access the property for the installation of the seawalls. 7. Please provide an avoidance and minimization statement. Pursuant to Title 15A NCAC 02H .0502(e) the applicant shall furnish all the above requested information for the proper consideration of the application. Please respond in writing within 30 calendar days of receipt of this letter by sending one (1) copy of all of the above requested information to the 401 & Buffer Permitting Branch, 1617 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699- 1617 OR by submitting all of the above requested information through this link: https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/Forms/Supplemental-Information-Form (note the DWR# requested on the link is referenced above). If all the requested information is not received within 30 calendar days of receipt of this letter, the DWR will move to deny your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H.0506. The denial of this project will necessitate reapplication to the Division for approval, including a complete application package and the appropriate fee. Please be aware that you have no authorization under the Section 401 of the Clean Water Act this activity and any work done within waters of the state may be a violation of North Carolina General Statutes and Administrative Code.
