CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN A COPY OF THE APPROVED EROSION CONTROL PLAN AND MAINTAIN A COPY OF THE PLAN ON SITE THROUGHOUT DURATION OF CONSTRUCTION. 2. PRIOR TO BEGINNING CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR MUST LOCATE ALL EXISTING UTILITIES (PUBLIC AND PRIVATE). CONTACT THE ENGINEER IF ANY CONFLICTS ARISE. 3. NO LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY BEYOND THAT REQUIRED TO INSTALL APPROPRIATE EROSION CONTROL MEASURES MAY PROCEED UNTIL THE EROSION CONTROL MEASURES ARE INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY NCDEQ. 4. CONTRACTOR MUST SCHEDULE A PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING WITH THE EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR PRIOR TO INITIATING LAND DISTURBANCE ACTIVITIES. 5. LIMIT CLEARING, DEMOLITION, AND LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY TO ONLY THE AREA NECESSARY TO INSTALL THE PERMITTED EROSION CONTROL MEASURES FOR PHASE 1. 6. INSTALL CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE, SAFETY FENCE, INLET PROTECTION, SILT FENCE, AND SILT FENCE OUTLETS AS INDICATED ON PLAN. 7. INSTALL SEDIMENT TRAP 8. ADJUST EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES AS NECESSARY FOR PROPER OPERATION. INSTALL ADDITIONAL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES IF DETERMINED NECESSARY BY INSPECTOR. 9. MAINTAIN ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. THE SEDIMENT TRAP, SILT FENCE, SILT FENCE OUTLETS, AND OTHER SIMILAR MEASURES MUST BE CLEANED OUT BEFORE THEY ARE HALF FULL. CLOGGED STONE FILTERS MUST BE REFRESHED/REPLACED. SILT FENCE CANNOT HAVE HOLES OR TEARS. 10. MAINTAIN ALL EXISTING EROSION CONTROL FEATURES PREVIOUSLY CONSTRUCTED AND ASSOCIATED WITH PHASE I EROSION CONTROL. 11. SELF-INSPECTIONS FOR EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL MEASURES ARE TO BE PERFORMED AT LEAST ONCE EVERY SEVEN CALENDAR DAYS AND WITHIN 24 HOURS OF EVERY RAIN EVENT OF GREATER THAN 1 INCH. ANY NEEDED REPAIRS SHALL BE MADE IMMEDIATELY TO MAINTAIN MEASURES AS DESIGNED. ALL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE MAINTAINED AS SPECIFIED IN THE CONSTRUCTION DETAILS ON THIS PLAN. A RAIN GAUGE SHALL BE INSTALLED AT THE PROJECT SITE FOR MONITORING. 12. BEGIN INSTALLATION OF THE STORM PIPE SYSTEM. INSTALL STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM FROM OUTLET POINTS (LOW END)AND WORK UPSTREAM. PIPE INLET PROTECTION SHALL BE UTILIZED AT THE END OF EACH WORK DAY TO ASSURE PIPE NETWORK IS NOT INUNDATED WITH SEDIMENT. 13. INSTALL SITE IMPROVEMENTS, STORMWATER DRAINAGE SYSTEM, UTILITY SERVICES, SIDEWALK AND DRIVEWAYS AS SHOWN ON THE APPROVED PLANS. ALL OPEN TRENCHES FOR UTILITY AND STORMWATER INSTALLATION SHALL BE PROTECTED FROM SEDIMENTATION BY PILING EXCAVATED MATERIAL ON THE UPHILL SIDE OF EXCAVATION. PROVIDE PIPE INLET PROTECTION AT THE END OF EACH DAY. OUTLET PROTECTION SHALL BE INSTALLED UPON COMPLETION. 14. INSTALL ADEQUATE EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES AND/OR INCREASE MAINTENANCE FREQUENCY WHERE APPROVED MEASURES FAIL TO PREVENT ACCELERATED EROSION, OFF-SITE SEDIMENTATION, OR REPETITIVE NON- COMPLIANCE ISSUES. ALL MEASURES MUST BE INSTALLED PER PLAN DETAIL. ENSURE CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC IS LIMITED TO THE CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE ONLY. 15. MODIFICATIONS TO THE APPROVED AND PERMITTED PLANS SHALL BE APPROVED BY NEW HANOVER COUNTY ENGINEERING PRIOR TO REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION. CONTACT THE EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR TO OBTAIN SIGN-OFF ON THE PLANS. 16. MAINTAIN ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. SILT FENCE, INLET PROTECTION, AND OTHER SIMILAR MEASURES MUST BE CLEANED OUT BEFORE THEY ARE HALF FULL. CLOGGED STONE FILTERS MUST BE REFRESHED/REPLACED. SILT FENCE CAN NOT HAVE HOLES OR TEARS. 17. PERIMETER MEASURES MUST BE LEFT IN PLACE UNTIL ALL UPLAND AREAS ARE PERMANENTLY STABILIZED. AFTER SITE IS PERMANENTLY STABILIZED, REMOVE ALL TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AND PROVIDE PERMANENT SEEDING WHERE TEMPORARY MEASURES HAVE BEEN REMOVED AND GROUND COVER IS NOT ADEQUATE. SEDIMENT BASINS MAY NOT BE REMOVED OR CONVERTED TO PERMANENT BMPs UNTIL ALL UPLAND AREAS ARE PERMANENTLY STABILIZED. 18. GROUND COVER SHALL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS: • FOR ALL AREAS OF MODERATE AND/OR STEEP SLOPES, PROVIDE TEMPORARY GROUND COVER IF THE SLOPE HAS NOT BEEN DISTURBED FOR A PERIOD OF FOURTEEN (14) DAYS. SLOPES GREATER THAN 3:1 REQUIRE GROUND COVER IN 7 DAYS. • PROVIDE GROUND COVER SUFFICIENT TO RESTRAIN EROSION ON ANY PORTION OF THE SITE UPON WHICH FURTHER LAND-DISTURBING ACTIVITY IS NOT BEING UNDERTAKEN WITHIN FOURTEEN (14) CALENDAR DAYS OF TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY SUSPENDING LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY.• ESTABLISH PERMANENT GROUND COVER SUFFICIENT TO RESTRAIN EROSION WITHIN FOURTEEN (14) CALENDAR DAYS FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION OR DEVELOPMENT AND/OR PRIOR TO FINAL INSPECTION. 19. ONCE GRADING IS COMPLETE, ALL UTILITIES AND STORM SYSTEMS ARE INSTALLED AND THE SITE IS COMPLETELY STABILIZIED, CLEAN OUT SEDIMENT BASINS AND CONVERT TO WET PONDS AS FOLLOWS: 19.1. REMOVE ALL SEDIMENT ACCUMULATION FROM THE SEDIMENT BASINS, AND ALL DRAINAGE STRUCTURES. 19.2. REMOVE TEMPORARY SKIMMER. 14.3. REGRADE BOTTOM OF BASIN, BASIN SLOPES, AND SPILLWAY AS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN THE ORIGINAL PLAN SPECIFICATION AND DETAILS OF THE WET PONDS. 19.4. INSTALL RISER STRUCTURES AND DISCHARGE PIPES PER SPECIFICATIONS AND DETAILS 20. AFTER THE EROSION BASINS ARE REMOVED, ENSURE RIPRAP PADS AND GRADES AT THE PIPE OUTLETS ARE ADJUSTED TO FINISHED GRADE. 21. AT A MINIMUM OF SEVEN (7) DAYS PRIOR TO SCHEDULING THE STORMWATER FINAL INSPECTION, SUBMIT ANY REQUIRED PAPERWORK TO THE EROSION CONTROL INSPECTORS FOR APPROVAL.
