Reclamation
he-South-DurhamWater----------- -Reclamation Facility,NCO047597 conducted in March 2012. As a result of
the January failure,we are running the multiple dilution analyses in February
and March. The first test was completed on February 8, 2012 and was marked
invalid by Meritech due to quality control problems in the lab. The second
analysis was completed on February 29, 2012 and indicated a 58.1%chronic
value. This result showed a chronic value-of-82.16%. These analyses were
completed by Meritech, Inc., 642 Tamco Road, Reidsville,North Carolina.
We have scheduled three additional analyses in the month of March with
Meritech and Tritest laboratories. We are continuing to pursue possible
sources of to by contacting industries and septage haulers as well as
analyzing additional metals samples on the effluent.

Please find enclosed the first quarter toxicity results for the South Durham
Water Reclamation Facility,NC0047597. The analysis was completed by
Meritech, Inc., 642 Tamco Road, Reidsville,North Carolina.
The results indicated a failure for the first time in over 15 years. As per the
permit, I have scheduled additional testing for the month of February and
March. In addition, City staff is investigating possible sources of toxicity.
