Inspection Summary:
Conducted a site visit at Riverside Drive in Rocky Mount due to an SSO that occurred on 3/6/2024 was reported on
3/7/2024. Contacted Water Resources Director on 3/7/2024 at 9:00 AM and asked what actions were taking place. SSO
was still actively overflowing but receeding and slowing down. City was sampling for fecal coliform at spill, river discharge
and upstream. Asked if any vacuum and hauling resources were available to the City to reduce SSO as much as they could.
Received a response that they do have resources and location for proper disposal. Asked that cleanup water and wastewater
debris be palced into sewer system for disposal once SSO stopped. Received call from Tar -Pam River Keeper at 11:25 AM
who was onsite and reporting the SSO. I visited the manhole and area around 3:50 PM. The manhole was not spilling at the
time of my visit. Checked river and visited area where inverted siphon crosses river. No signs of SSO when onsite.
