Mr. Evertson:
The Raleigh Regional Office staff have reviewed your request dated March 1, 2024 for a
determination that stormwater discharge outfall (SDO) -Alt and SDO-001 be granted representative
outfall status (ROS) for stormwater outfalls SDO-002,SDO-003. Based on the compliance evaluation
of sample data conducted by Thad Valentine on March 7, 2024,the Raleigh Regional Office cannot
approve your request at this time.
According to Mr.Valentine both outfalls are in tier III status and our office has not been
notified of this. Representative Outfall Status (ROS) cannot be granted for outfalls that are in tier
response.Additionally,the facility is not compliant with their stormwater permit since they have
not notified this office of the tier response status for the two outfalls and have not initiated the
requirements of those responses. For these reasons the (ROS) is denied and you are required to
perform all the duties and provide all the additional information required for outfalls in tier I[[
status in order to bring the facility into compliance with you permit requirements.
When applying for representative outfall status in the future,please use the form provided
on our web page.That form provides for the correct way to show which outfalls you would like to
be representative of which outfall so that information can be tracked accordingly.
