Section D: Summary of Finding/Comments (Attach additional sheets of narrative and checklists as necessary)
Mara Chamlee, with the Asheville Regional Office, conducted a Compliance Evaluation Inspection of
the Linville Land Harbor WWTP on January 29, 2024. This inspection was conducted to determine
whether the facility is being operated and maintained in compliance with NPDES Permit No.
NC0022756. Mr. C.L. Lewis (ORC) was present and assisted with the inspection.
The facility appears to be well maintained and operated. There were no compliance issues found.
The following items were noted during the inspection:
1) Operations & Maintenance- Mr. Lewis noted that there is one restauraunt on site that has a grease
trap and at present it does not cause grease problems for the facility. He also noted that they do
receive some grease from the houses within the development, but it has not caused major issues up
to this point.
2) Equalization Basins- Mr. Lewis indicated that the collection system has issues with I&I and the EQ
basin helps stabilize the plant during times of heavy flow.
3) Effluent sampling- The thermometer was not in the unit at the time of the inspection, but in the
facility office. The thermometer should be replaced to the sampler when sampling events occur.
