These gauges shall have readily visible permanent markings, at inch or tenth of foot increments, indicating the following elevations: the maximum liquid level at the top of the temporary liquid storage volume, the minimum liquid level at the bottom of the temporary liquid storage volume, and the lowest point on top of the dam. [15A NCAC 02T .0108(b)(1)(A)] The Permittee shall establish and maintain a protective vegetative cover on all berms, pipe runs, erosion control areas, surface water diversions, and earthen embankments (i.e., the outside toe of the embankment to the maximum allowable temporary storage elevation on the inside of the embankment). The Permittee shall remove all trees, shrubs, and other woody vegetation from earthen dikes and embankments.
