3. CHEMICAL POLLUTANT INFORMATION
3.1 Please complete a chemical analysis of each residual material. Each analysis must include the parameters listed in the table
below as well as any other known or suspected contaminants of concern. Animal waste residuals cannot be sold or given
away if the concentration of any pollutant in the residuals exceeds any of the Ceiling Concentrations specified in the table
below on a dry -weight basis (mg/kg). Fill out the pollutant concentrations of the residuals in the table below (attach all lab
analyses):

3.2 Were any pilot or bench -scale studies performed on the residual material? ❑ yes ❑ no. If "yes", please provide the

4. PATHOGEN REDUCTION INFORMATION
In accordance with 15A NCAC 02T .1310, animal waste residuals shall be monitored for the density of fecal coliform or
Salmonella sp. Bacteria at the time the residuals are used or disposed, or at the time they are prepared for sale or giving away
for land application. Sampling results must demonstrate compliance with pathogen limit in either Part A or Part B below
(please submit all lab analyses, test results, and calculations). Please check which of the following applies to the subject
residual:
Part A (X) A fecal coliform density less than 1000 Most Probable Number per gram of total dry solids
Part B ❑ A Salmonella sp. density less than 3 Most Probable Number per 4 grams of total dry solids
Part C Please select the method used to achieve compliance with respect to pathogen limit requirements.
❑ Alkaline treatment — the pH of the residuals is raised to greater than 12 for at least 72 hours. During this time, the
temperature of the residuals should be greater than 520 C for at least 12 hours. In addition, after the 72-hour period,
the residuals shall; be air-dried to greater than 50% total solids.
❑ Composting — using either the within -vessel or static aerated pile composting methods, the temperature of the
residuals are raised to 550 C or higher for three days. Using the windrow composting method, the residuals are
raised to 550 C or higher for fifteen days. During the high temperature period, there will be a minimum of five
turnings of the windrow.
❑ Heat Drying —residuals are dried by director indirect contact with hot gases to reduce the moisture content of the
residuals to 10% or lower. Either the temperature of the gas in contact with the residuals exceeds 800 C or the wet
bulb temperature of the gas in contact with the residuals, when the residuals leave the dryer, exceeds 800 C.
❑ Heat Treatment — liquid residuals are heated to a temperature of 1800 C or higher for thirty minutes.
❑ Pasteurization — the temperature of the residuals is maintained at 70' C or higher for at least thirty minutes.

Material has experienced long term anaerobic digestion and meets the testing requirements for volatile reduction
test (40 day bench test).

5. PROCESS INFORMATION
5.1 Please provide a brief narrative concerning materials handling and processing, including the following:
a. How will the animal waste product be handled and transported from where they are produced to where they will be
treated? Treatment occurs in a lagoon system.
b. Where will the animal waste residuals be stored until processing? Lagoon
c. How will the animal waste be treated and what will be the duration of treatment of the animal waste product? Provide
detailed description and all necessary calculations, designs, site maps, and supporting documentation. See 4-part C
answer.
d. Where will the final product be stored? Sludge will be dewatered using Geotextile tubes or other widely used
dewatering machinery.
e. How will leachate collection from the raw product storage, treatment facility, and finished product storage be handled?
All leachate will be returned to the lagoon.
f. How long will the final product be stored before being distributed? Up to two years post completion of removal
process.
g. How will the final product be distributed (packaging), if applicable? Bulk

5.4 Please provide either a label, which shall be affixed to the bagged processed animal waste residual, or an information
sheet, which shall be provided to the person who receives the processed animal waste residual. The label or information
sheet shall contain, at a minimum, the following information [15A NCAC 02T .1310 (b)] :
a. The name and address of the person who prepared the animal waste residual that is sold or given away in a bag or
other container for application to the land.
b. A statement that application of the animal waste residual to the land is prohibited except in accordance with the
instructions on the label or information sheet.
c. A statement that animal waste residuals must be applied at agronomic rates and recommended rates for intended uses.
d. A statement that the animal waste residuals shall not be applied to any site that is flooded, frozen, or snow-covered.
e. A statement that adequate procedures shall be provided to prevent surface runoff from carrying any disposed or stored
animal waste residuals into any surface waters.
f. A statement which identifies that this material shall be prevented from entering any public or private water supply
source (including wells) and any stream, lake, or river.
g. The pollutant concentrations for the pollutants listed in Section 3 above measured to be in the animal waste residual.

Application Information Sheet will be prepared for each source. Black Dirt Product is an exceptional quality
solid product that is permitted for bulk distribution or use as soil admixture.
Murphy -Brown requires all onsite Receiver personnel to complete and be aware of the Environmental Management
System. Prior to arriving on the facility, please complete the appropriate training for environmental awareness.
Murphy -Brown shall in no way be liable or responsible for any injury or damage done or occasioned by the action and
operations of Receiver under this contract or for damage or injury sustained by Receiver, its employees or contractors,
while on Murphy -Brown's property; and Receiver binds and obligates itself to pay and satisfy any and all claims arising
on account of its operations hereunder, whether the same be injuries to its employees or other persons, or damage to any
type of property, and Receiver further agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Murphy -Brown, its affiliates, agents
and employees (collectively, "Indemnities"), from and against any and all liability, suits, judgments, claims, fines, loss,
injury or damage, including court costs, attorney's fees and all associated litigation expenses,(collectively, "Losses")
resulting from Receiver's operations, the Receiver's use of the MB Black Dirt, and/or claims of Receiver's customer(s). .
Notwithstanding the obligations of Receiver contained in the immediately preceding sentence, Receiver shall have no
obligation to defend, indemnify and hold Murphy -Brown Indemnitees harmless for Losses arising out of Murphy -Brown's
sole negligence. Receiver hereby waives as against Murphy -Brown any immunity afforded by applicable workers

Provisions for Admixture
If used as an admixture, the receiver's final admixture product will be required to obtain their own permit and
the final admixture will need to meet their permit conditions. Murphy -Brown will be under no obligation for this
new or altered product.
Provisions for Distribution
Application/Distribution of Black Dirt Product is prohibited except in accordance with the provisions specified
in the Application Information Sheet. Use of Black Dirt Product must comply with standards identified in
Permit WQ003 7487for the distribution of animal residual solids, the product label and the product information
sheet and include but are not limited to:

Application Information Sheet
I Black Dirt Product is an ideal source of organic nitrogen, phosphorus and zinc, whichever is most limiting, for most
crops or vegetation. Please apply nutrients to be consistent with good agronomic guidelines. Some crops are zinc
sensitive and applications of this product should be monitored carefully. Applications of Black Dirt Product should be
made in accordance with approved application standards, state and federal laws.
2 Black Dirt Product shall not be applied to flooded, frozen, or snow covered areas.
3 Application and storage of Black Dirt Product must be conducted in such a way as to prevent runoff from the
application or storage site to any surface water.
4 Applications of Black Dirt Product must not be applied so thick as to cover existing vegetation. Application that is
made to sites with less than 50 percent ground cover should be incorporated.
5 Application sites shall be soil sampled prior to application. Application rates of Black Dirt Product shall be based on
soil sample recommendations and nutrient needs of receiving crops or vegetation. Additional fertilizer, lime, or other
nutrients may need to be added as directed by the soil sample results.
6 Black Dirt Product contains polymer and can be extremely slippery. Please exercise proper caution in the handling
of this material to prevent spillage and potential mishaps.
7 Applications of Black Dirt Product should at no time exceed the maximum loading rates listed below. These maximum
applicaton rates were calculated based on the annual pollutant loading level for zinc.
