We have cleaned out one of the two settling boxes that feed the pond,which feeds outfall 003. The other will be
cleaned soon. We are also getting quotes for installing an aerator in the pond to assist with COD
mitigation. Please let me know if you need additional information.

Mr. Eplin,
Please allow this email to serve as a notification that,for the above referenced site,we will be moving into Tier 3
for COD at outfall 003. We have had 4 instances since 2019(start of permit cycle)that were above the benchmark
of 120 mg/L. We are formulating plans to improve the site controls at that outfall. The current controls are a sand
bottom pond with slotted pipe beneath. We will be cleaning out the controls and possibly adding controls to the
pond.
In addition,we were previously in Tier 3 for outfall 001 for copper. We have now had three consecutive monitoring
events with results below the benchmark(and below detection limit), so we believe that we can now return to Tier
1 for that site.
