Dear Ms. Eplin,
A sample (SDO-3) collected on April 28, 2023 at the Ashe Co Landfill contained levels of
TSS (85.5 ug/L) above the benchmark for an ORW(50 mg/L). This is the first benchmark
exceedance for TSS which follows three consecutive quarters of all parameters reported below
benchmarks. A Tier 1 response was initiated which includes this notification. Ashe County
will continue to follow conditions outlined in their permit. Please contact Mr. Scott Hurley
