NOTICE OF DISCHARGE OF UNTREATED SMAGE
The City of Henderson had a discharge of approximately 469,000 gallons of untreated
wastewater from our Redbud Pumping Station located at the intersection of 158 Business
and Vance Academy Road. The discharge covers the periods from January 26`h at 11:00
a.m. to 12:00 midnight; January 27`h at 10:30 a.m. to 11:45p.m; January 281h at 3:30 p.m.
to 11:00 p. m; January 29`h at 1:45 p.m. to January 30"' atl:30 a. m.; January 300'at 2:15
p.m. to February 6`h at 5:00 a.m.; February 6th at 8:47 a.m. to February 7`h at 2:00 am.;
February 7`h at 7:47 a.m. to February 8`h at 5:15 a.m.; February 8`h at 7:30 a.m. and is still
ongoing on February 8`h at 2:00 p.m.. It is estimated that approximately 420,000 of
untreated wastewater has entered Redbud Creek of the Tar -Pamlico River Basin.
The bypass was caused by inflow and infiltration from heavy snowfall melting that
exceeded the station's pumping capacity.
The City has plans under review by the State to increase the station's pumping capacity.
The Division of Water Quality was kept informed of the bypass and is reviewing the
matter.
This notice was required by North Carolina General Statutes Article 21 Chapter
143.215.C.

NOTICE OF DISCHARGE OF UNTREATED SEWAGE
The City of Henderson had a discharge of approximately 329,000 gallons of untreated
wastewater from our Redbud Pumping Station located at the intersection of 158 Business
and Vance Academy Road. The discharge covers the periods from January 26"' at 11:00
a.m. to 12:00 midnight; January 27u' at 10:30 a.m. to 11:45p.m; January 28s' at 3:30 p.m.
to 11:00 p. m; January29's at 1:45 p.m. to January 30a' atl:30 a. m; and started again on
January 30"' at 2:15 p.m. and is still ongoing at 2:00 p. m. on February 2nd at 2:00 p. m..
It is estimated that approximately 280,000 of untreated wastewater has entered Redbud
Creek of the Tar -Pamlico River Basin.
The bypass was caused by inflow and infiltration from heavy snowfall melting that
exceeded the station's pumping capacity.
The City has plans under review by the State to increase the station's pumping capacity.
The Division of Water Quality was kept informed of the bypass and is reviewing the
matter.
This notice was required by North Carolina General Statutes Article 21 Chapter
143.215.C.

PRESS RELEASE UPDATE
NOTICE OF DISCHARGE OF UNTREATED SEWAGE
The City of Henderson had a discharge of approximately 249,000 gallons of untreated
wastewater from our Redbud Pumping Station located at the intersection of 158 Business
and Vance Academy Road. The discharge covers the periods from January 26`s at 11:00
a.m. to 12:00 midnight; January 27 h at 10:30 a.m. to 11:45p.m; January 28`h at 3:30 p.m.
tol1:00 p. m; January29m at 1:45 p.m. to January 30s' atl:30 a. m; and started again on
January 30'h at 2:15 p.m. and is still ongoing at 2:00 p. m. on January 31" at 2:00 p. m..
It is estimated that approximately 200,000 Of untreated wastewater has entered Redbud
Creek of the Tar -Pamlico River Basin.
The bypass was caused by inflow and infiltration from heavy snowfall melting that
exceeded the station's pumping capacity.
The City has plans under review by the State to increase the station's pumping capacity.
The Division of Water Quality was kept informed of the bypass and is reviewing the
matter.
This notice was required by North Carolina General Statutes Article 21 Chapter
143.215.C.
