Dear Mr. Norris:
On November 13, 2007, the NC Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application for an Individua1401 Water Quality
Certification dated October 29, 2007 for impacts associated with the above referenced project. An Individua1404 Permit will be
required for this project.- Please note that the following must be received prior to issuance of a 401 Water Quality Certification:
1. The 401 Certification cannot be processed until a copy of the Corps of Engineers Public Notice for this project is received at the
DWQ Central Office in Raleigh. No action is required on your part. The Corps of Engineers will forward the Public Notice to
this Office when it is published.
2. DWQ requires submission of five (5) application sets and appropriate fee. DWQ is making the suggestion that all associated
project maps be submitted as a PDF~file on a CD in addition to two (2) paper copies.
3. The fee structure has changed. The fee for applications is $240 for projects impacting less than an acre of wetland
and less than 150 linear feet of streams (whether intermittent; or perennial). For projects impacting one or more acres of wetland
or 150 or more feet of streams (whether intermittent or perennial), the fee is $570.
Until the information requested in this letter is provided, I will request (by copy of this letter) that the Corps of Engineers place this
project on hold. Also, this project will be placed on hold for our processing due to incomplete information (1 SA NCAC 2H .0507(h)).
