The purpose of this letter is to request modifications to the Clear- Water Act (CWA) Sectitm 404
Permit issued by the USACE and the Water Quality Certifcatiom issued by the NC'DWQ. "Phis
projec,-t is due to let on April 17, 2007. The North Carolina Department of "transportation
(NC.DOT) is proposing the fol{owing modifications:
A driveway is being added resulting in an additiona10.03 acre ofwetlar,d impacrts.
• The wetland area to be restored is shown on the revised plan sheets. This onsite restoration
will provide mitigation for these additional impacts.
• The casement line to the south has been changed to right of way designation.
Regulatory Approvals
The NCDOT respectfully requests that the referenced 404 USACE Permit and 401 Water Quality
Certification be modified to reflect the revision to the project's plan sheets as outlined in this
letter. We are providing five copies of this application to the North Carolina Department of
Environment and Natural Resources, Division of Water Quality far their review and approval.
