6001 Cheek Road SFR
Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0000243
Durham County
Dear Permittee:
The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the 6001 Cheek Road
SFR on 1/19/2024. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance
with the conditions and limitations specified in Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0000243. The findings and
comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report
entitled "Compliance Inspection Report".
Division records indicate a treatment system consisting of a 1000-gallon baffled septic tank with filter; a 208
sq.ft. subsurface sand filter, a tablet chlorinator and contact chamber, audible /visual high water alarms; a
1,200-gallon storage /dosing tank, a 0.14-acre spray irrigation area with four spray nozzles; and all
associated piping, valves, controls and appurtenances.
During the inspection, the following was observed:
Schedule (Section I of permit):
1. The permit expires on February 28, 2025 A permit renewal application should be submitted six months
prior to expiration. A copy of the application can be downloaded from our website.

Performance (Section II):
2. The facility meets the performance standards and setbacks as stipulated in Section II of the permit.
Operation and Maintenance (O&M) (Section III):
3. The system and irrigation were in good condition. Continue to repair the spray heads as needed and
remove any ruts in the spray area.
Monitoring, Reporting (Section IV), and Inspections (Section V):
4. The owner maintains the system as needed. No written records were available for review. He stated
that the septic was pumped in 2022 but didn’t have the receipt to give an exact date. DWR
recommends the septic to be assessed and pumped every 5 years.
General Conditions (Section VI):
5. The facility continues to be owned by Mr. Wilson and annual fees have been paid in the past three
years. No violations or complaints have been reported in the past five years.
This report is a notification of the results of the compliance inspection. DWR recommends that the spray
heads be repaired or replaced as needed and to fill in any ruts in the spray field. If you have questions or
