In order for the remaining spread footer construction to be completed and to alleviate the water flow in this area the Department would like to request permission to allow the contractor to install a one foot French drain running from the corner of the spread footing to the flowline of Smith Creek approximately 100 feet downstream(see attachment for location). The French drain would consist of 1 foot of #57 washed stone encapsulated in Geotextile. The outlet end of the French drain would consist of a 6" PVC outlet pipe. The work will require temporarily digging through the bank of Smith Creek, laying the outlet pipe, backfilling the creek bank, spreading a native seed mix and covering with Coir Fiber Mat. Disturbance of the stream bank should last no more than one day in duration. Please contact me if you have any questions.
