REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION-EXPRESS REVIEW PROGRAM
Dear Mr. Burriss:
Coleen H. Sullins, Director
Division of Water Quality
Wake County
EXP# 07-0208v2
On November 7, 2007, the Division of Water Quality tDWQ) received your response to our request for additional
information. The DWQ has determined that. this information is incomplete. Please provide the additional
information requested below in order to continue review of your project and to prevent denial of your application
as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506:
1. General Information:
a. In order to achieve diffuse flow provisions, you have proposed a number of dissipater pads at the. end
of the .outflow pipes from all BMPs without. providing the outlet velocities of your dissipater pads.
Please provide information on the outlet velocities, including pipe sizes, slopes, and flow rates used for
sizing the aprons. Additionally, please provide elevations and invert levels necessary for construction
purposes on the appropriate site. plans and/or in the supporting documents.
b. Please provide Figure 8.06.b.2 used for sizing the aprons. Only Figure 8.06.b.1 is provided on page 4
of the supporting documents.
Level Spreader
a. The length of the proposed level spreader is too short. Please provide a length adequate for a design
flow of 1.269 cfs, and a forest filter strip. Please see Table 8.1 in the North Carolina Division of Water
Quality Stormwater Best Management Practices Manual. The length (ft) of level spreader lip needed
per cfs is missing on the Supplement Form.
b. Please sign and notarize the Inspection and Maintenance Agreement for the Filter Strip and Level
Spreader.
c. Please provide adate-stamped photo of the filter strip and the appropriate response as required in
Items 4 and 5 of the Required Items Checklist.
d. Please provide site plans that meet specified requirements in the Required Items Checklist. For
example, plan sheets C3.0, C3.2 and C 8.2 do not show the entire site and/or are not at the appropriate
scale.
3. Wet Detention Pond G
a. Flow from outlet structure associated with Wet Detention Pond G would not be diffused, but rather
channelize in the draw down slope of the. dissipater pad. Please relocate the outlet structure.
