Dear Ms. Manuel:
This letter is to follow up regarding Tyler Clark's December 4, 2023 inspection of the residential
septic system located at 4427 Hope Valley Road, Durham, NC 27707. I received your letter in
early January requesting that I provide a written response to Finding 4 in the letter regarding
effluent analysis.
I previously sent you an emailed response on January 29, 2024, along with a copy of our last septic
inspection report conducted by Agri -Waste Technology, Inc., but have not received a response
regarding the sufficiency of my emailed submission in meeting the Division's requirements. That
report notes that an insufficient effluent flow was available at the time of the inspection, so no
sample was collected. This same report was provided to Tyler Clark via email on November 17,
2023, along with our most recent septic pumping invoice available as of that date. I have followed
up with Mr. Clark by both email on November 281h and by phone on January 261, but have not
received a response from him. Accordingly, I now am sending this letter to provide a final update
by the February 141h deadline noted in your letter, and ask that you confirm in writing whether
anything additional is required at this time.
Since my January 29" email to you, we have attempted to collect a representative sample of
effluent but were not able to collect enough to send for laboratory testing. I have contacted Agri -
Waste to arrange for an inspection before our regular appointment in April, and am working with

their office to find a date when I can be home to run enough water to produce enough effluent
volume to allow for a representative sample to be taken. Should we be successful, I will provide a
copy of the lab analysis to your office.
