conservation plans or other measures to achieve waste flow reductions.

To Whom it may concern,
This letter is being sent for additional information for the total numbers of seasonally and
permanently abandoned sprayheads in the Town of Liberty irrigation fields. The below chart and
attached maps show the updated wetted acreages. This is the same information used in the
previous permit renewal application.
In order to determine the wetted areas, the Operator surveyed the spray heads and determined
which heads had been permanently removed from service and which heads will need to be
seasonally taken offline. Those sprayheads were then marked on the attached map with a circle
for the seasonal sprayheads and and 'Y' for the permanently disabled sprayheads.
Once the total number of permanently removed sprayheads was tallied, the Operator used the
formula Trr2 = area, where radius is 40. The wetted area, 5,024 square feet, was divided by the
total number of square feet in an acre 43,560 to find that each sprayhead covers .12 acres
squared. However, the distance between the sprayheads is such that 33% of the wetted area is
covered by surrounding sprayheads, therefore, the value .12 is multiplied by .67 to reflect that
only 67 percent of the spray area for each abandoned sprayhead is left unwetted. The result is
that there will be .08 square acres left unwetted per abandoned sprayheads.
The proposed time period for seasonally restricted sprayheads is December 1 to March 31 of
each year. The total number of seasonally restricted sprayheads is 48 and the number of
permanently abandoned sprayheads is 34.
