This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0066249. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". The solids level at the plant was undesirably high but it appears to be due to issues with pump truck schedules as opposed to negligence by the permittee. We met with Mark Jones (ORC) for the inspection. The solids levels in the WWTP were undesirably high. Settled solids after 30 minutes were at about 95%. The sludge blanket in the clarifier was about 9 feet out of 12 feet of water depth.Mr. Jones prefers to keep the settled solids level at 65%, but he said the pump truck was behind schedule. Solids are pumped from the WWTP about once per month during the summer and every 3 months in the winter. Mr. Jones says the plant runs 30 minutes on/30 minutes off. This WWTP doesn't have a generator but the mobile home park uses a well water system which doesn't run during power outages.
