Brainard, Consn Consultant Field Projects Section SUBJECT: Cultural Resources - B. E. Jordan ATTENDANCE: John Young, Corps of Engineers Dolores Hall, Cultural Resources John Clauser, Cultural Resources Ken Jeffries, Forest Resources Ed Sykes, Forest Resources Jane Brainard, Forest Resources DATE: March 26, 1986, 8:30 a. m. The above named people met at the Region II Headquarters site at B. E. Jordan. The intent of this meeting was to define the removal of the debris left from the clearing of the road and beetle infested trees. The debris removal as defined below and installation of gates on access roads from State Road 1716 are the responsibility of the Division of Forest Resources. Specifically the items discussed were: 1. Debris removal without any more damage is the major concern. 2. If the debris can remain, it is to do so. 3. The debris to be removed must be cut and lifted from the structure and surrounding site. 4. The Corps of Engineers will purchase the materials for fencing and gating access to the site along State Road 1716, specifically the recent road cut and the access to the power line right-of-way. (Apparently CP&L does not own the access road as previously believed, 3/28/86 per Corps sources). The wire and posts are stored at the Park's office on US 64. 5. The old US 64 access to the site is shown on the Master Plan as gated. State Parks and Recreation requested that the access be controlled. Harry Layman - 2 - April 4, 1986 Cultural Resources - B. E.
