Reaching out to notify DEQ of a recent stormwater discharge that has recently been determined to have bypassed the sand filter at Pond 3 at the South Charlotte Transfer Station located in Mecklenburg County(COC No. NCG081037). The discharge has been determined to have occurred on January 9, 2024. The stormwater was sampled at that time and there were no benchmark exceedances observed in the analytical results. We will follow up with you early next week with more details and would like to discuss the need for dewatering of the pond so that the sand filter can be rehabilitated. Best Regards, Jeff Jeffery S.
