Mike Mehaffey (CS ORC), Seth Boyd (BORC), and Jordan Davis (CS Staff) were present and assisted with the inspection. Maggie Valley CS covers approximately 16 square miles, servicing 47 miles of gravity sewer line, 1 public pump station, 21 aerial lines, and 1,210 manholes. The system appears to be well maintained and operated, and record keeping was thorough and up-to-date. Two I&I studies, performed in 2020 and 2023, identified major repairs needed to the system. Resulting fixes have reduced flow to the WWTP by approximately 80,000 gpd. The CS staff continue to rehabilitate/reseal various manholes throughout the system. HPL number 7 was removed and rerouted, and staff are planning on removing/replacing HPL 8 in 2024. Staff indicated that repairs were made to the Valley View Trailer Park private pump station since the last inspection, but ongoing maintenance of floats, alarms, and influent pipe condition is still an issue.
